Dr Robert Floyd is Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), based in Vienna. An Australian national, he took up the post in 2021 and was reappointed for a second term in 2025. Before joining the CTBTO, he led Australia’s Safeguards and Non-proliferation Office for over a decade and spent seven years advising the Prime Minister on counter-terrorism and counter-proliferation policy. He holds a PhD in population ecology and spent his first twenty years as a research scientist.
