The race was won by Finland's Kalle Palander, whose two-run combined time was two minutes, 30.92 seconds.

Olympic giant slalom champion Benjamin Raich of Austria finished second at 0.42 seconds behind. Berthod finished 0.45 back.

Raich has now retaken the overall World Cup lead from Cuche, who made an error in the first leg. He fell and got back up but did not qualify for the second round.

Raich now leads Cuche – who came second in Saturday's downhill classic and won the Super G on Friday - 521-453 in the overall standings.
