Eluveitie: Everything Remains As It Never Was
Celtic metal. Can you combine dark metal with ancient Celtic music? Yes, Eluveitie can! This octet from Winterthur which surfaced the scene in 2002 has meanwhile achieved cult status abroad, especially in the US. Eluveitie is said to be an ancient expression for "I, the Helvetian (I the Swiss)". This combo restores Celtic songs in a state of the art dark metal setting. But what makes their sound unique is that they coevally inweave passages played on ancient instruments in the era's melodic moods. Like Celtic Frost or Krokus Eluveitie belong to the worldwide respected music pioneers from Switzerland.
