
George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band: Matterhorn Matters

Bigband Jazz / Modern. George Gruntz stands in the forefront of European jazz ambassadors. During the 60s he shared the bandstand with many US jazz giants as accompanying pianist, namely as member of the European Rhythm Machine. From the 70s on he started the Concert Jazz Band, an orchestra comprising some of the world's finest players of this genre. In the following Gruntz developed his eclectic composing style which blends jazz with classical or ethnical music. Since four decades the ensemble has appeared live worldwide and received highest praise especially in the US or Europe. Matterhorn Matters recorded live at the KKL Lucerne offers strong solos along with breathtaking ensemble passages.
