Phenomden: Eiland (Island)
Reggae. Rising national star Dennis Furrer alias Phenomden has fully devoted himself to Jamaica's sonic idiom, enriched with original lyrics sung in Swiss-German dialect. This distinct character from Zurich has reached growing success over the last decade, both with refreshing album releases and sparkling live gigs. During 2010 Phenomden took a time out to delve into reggae on site in Kinsgton, Jamaica. Eiland (Island), his third longplayer, he recorded back home in Switzerland together with his band, the Scrucialists. And Phenomden's style has become more mature and divers than ever before. The mostly socio-critical texts are always paired with a positive musical vibe throughout. Eiland expresses serious fun at its best.
