Eduard Brunner was born in Basel. He studied in his hometown and later, with Louis Cahuzac as his instructor, in Paris. For many years, he was the 1st soloist on the clarinet at the symphony orchestra of the Bayerische Rundfunk under Rafael Kubelik and is now professor at the Music Conservatory in Saarbrücken.
