Surviving as indie perfumers

It takes a good nose and a dose of craziness to be artisan perfume makers like Vero Kern and Andy Tauer. They’re up against huge competition from the fragrance industry. But their niche market is surviving, thanks in part to the Internet.

Neither of these perfume makers will get rich from what they do, but they were able to turn their passion into a full-time occupation, with no need for a side job to pay the bills. (Raffaella Rossello, swissinfo.ch)
