Rising Swiss movie star wins Berlin award

The 18-year-old Swiss actor, Martin Rapold, has been awarded a special prize at the Berlin film festival.

The 18-year-old Swiss actor, Martin Rapold, has been awarded a special prize at the Berlin film festival.

Rapold was one of a group of up-and-coming talents from the European film scene presented to the public by the festival's director, Moritz de Hadeln. The prize was awarded by the Association for Promoting European Films as part of its "Shooting Stars" campaign. Its main objective is to help promising newcomers embark on an international film career.

Rapold was chosen as the year's best young Swiss actor for his role in the film "Exclusiv", directed by Florian Froschmayer.
