Wawrinka turns around US Open match

Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka has won his third round match in an epic five set match at the US Open tennis tournament, while Timea Bacsinszky has gone out.

World number ten Wawrinka came from two sets down to win, defeating Italy's Flavio Cipolla 5-7, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-0, 6-4 after four hours.

Russian number six Dinara Safina struggled past unseeded Timea Bacsinszky to win their third round match 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.

In the women's doubles second round, Patty Schnyder teamed up with Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany to defeat Russia's Nadia Petrova and Francesca Schiavone of Italy 6-7 (3), 6-4, 7-6 (5).

In his third round match Roger Federer will next play the Czech Republic's Radek Stepanek.
