"Sticky" Madonna to make Swiss debut
Madonna will be giving her first concert in Switzerland as part of the Sticky & Sweet tour promoting her new album.
The open-air concert will be held at Dübendorf, the Zurich military airfield where the Rolling Stones performed two years ago, concert promoters announced on Monday.
Defence Minister Samuel Schmid gave special permission for the airfield to be used for the concert but is awaiting final approval by authorities in neighbouring districts.
Up to 70,000 fans are expected at the August 30 show. Sales of the SFr150-300 ($143-286) tickets will be limited to four per person in a move to cut down on illegal reselling.
The ticket price includes free rail travel to and from the concert from any Swiss station. Extra trains will be rolled out for the concert.
Around 250 people, 60 trucks and 15 cars will go on the road to support the 50-year-old London-based singer's tour of Europe and North and South America.
