Boy: Mutual Friends
Chamber-pop / singer-songwriter. Boy is a female twosome based in Hamburg, Germany. Few years back Swiss singer Valeska Steiner left her hometown Zurich to settle in the Hanseatic city, where she immediately became friends with local bassist-multi-instrumentalist Sonja Glass. Only a couple of concerts later Boy was born. Their ongoing successful stage activities all across Germany eventually aroused the interest of pop-rock legend Herbert Grönemeyer and climaxed in their current debut album Mutual Friends on the latter's ambitious indie label Neu Grönland Records. Its full dozen tunes echo with their innocent charm the sensitivities of nowadays' twentysomethings and are evocative of bubbles floating across the air.
