I stopped watching tennis since Roger doesn't play. For me he is the ultimate in excellence that a human has ever played the sport. No one finer, more exquisite and aggressive for tennis. His displacements on the surfaces with his quick legs made him look as if he was floating, as if he was dancing... and that racket like a brush in his hand as if it was the extension of his hand.

It is very difficult to say, it would be very even between him, nadal and djokovic. For me there is only one sport where one man has clearly been the best in history: Michael Jordan in basketball.

To ask the question is already an insult to Roger. Roger is the greatest sportsman of all time and will probably remain so. He has no equal. He has everything going for him. The class, the gift, the technique, the intelligence, the respect, the modesty, the humor, the humility, the sensitivity, the fidelity, etc etc etc ... I wasted a year of my life suffering in front of my TV hoping he would win every time. He is an exception and he will remain so. A sportsman retires, a legend is born! And it is Swiss! Roger is an inspiration for the world and for sport. Watching the awarding of the trophy in Australia in 2018, and listening to what Jane Hrdlicka said is just an unforgettable moment of sport: "Roger you are an inspiration to so many people around the world" !!!!!!! And what about his tears when he thanks his family? A Legend forever!!!
Poser la question est déjà une insulte à Roger. Roger est le plus grand sportif de tous les temps et le restera probablement. Il n'a aucun égal. Il a tout pour lui. La classe, le don, la technique, l'intelligence, le respect, la modestie, l'humour, l'humilité, la sensibilité, la fidélité, etc etc etc ... J'ai perdu un an de ma vie à souffrir devant ma télé en espérant qu'il gagne à chaque fois. C'est une exception et il le restera. Un sportif se retire, une légende est née ! Et elle est Suisse ! Roger est une inspiration pour le monde et pour le sport. En regardant la remise du trophée en Australie en 2018, et en écoutant ce que dit Jane Hrdlicka est juste un moment inoubliable de sport : "Roger you are an inspiration to so many people around the world" !!!!!!! Et que dire de ses larmes lorsqu'il remercie sa famille ? Une Légende à jamais !!!

Rod Laver is the GOAT, no question bout it. Noted above if he had not missed five years he would have out performed all of them.
If I did not say that Roger Federer is the greatest of all time members of my family would hang me. That said here in the US we do not and have not seen many of the tournaments that Roger has won. In the end I would think that you would have to look at the total record and adjust for generational differences. I still think Roger Federer is the GOAT.

Who is the better tennis player should not be measured by the number of Grand Slams or Masters titles, but by the maximum strength a player has ever achieved. Federer is unreachable in this. He brought new elements into tennis. He has an incredible feel for the ball in his hands. the elegance he lays down on the tennis court is like a ballet. He is an asset to tennis.
To have already seen him at the SwissIndors in Basel it is by far the most sympathetic and technically it is out of pair an incredible touch of ball and that seems to me it which moves less on a court, it has a direction of observation and anticipation, it is true that at this level the so much solicited articulations wear out, Nadal is going to follow it closely and Roger makes me think of Jimmy Connors a stick until the end of its career, still bravo for all the exploits to Roger Federer!
Pour l’avoir déjà vu au SwissIndors à Bâle c’est de loin le plus sympa et techniquement il est hors pair un toucher de balle incroyable et celui me semble-t-il qui se déplace le moins sur un court , il a un sens d’observation et d’anticipation, il est vrai qu’à ce niveau les articulations tant sollicitées s’usent , Nadal va le suivre de près et Roger me fait penser à Jimmy Connors un bâtant jusqu’à la fin de sa carrière, encore bravo pour tous les exploits à Roger Federer !
On a sporting level Federer is comparable to Nadal or Djoko. But I think that Federer is much more than just a tennis player. So in my opinion he is THE greatest of all time, and will remain so for a very long time.
Au niveau sportif Federer est a ce jour comparable a un Nadal ou a un Djoko. Mais je trouve que Federer c’est beaucoup plus qu’un simple Tennisman. Donc a mon sens c’est LE plus grand de tous les temps, et le restera pour tres longtemps.
He is the GOHT (his) in tennis. All others may make more money than him, win more Masters, but he did it when he was in his prime. No one can better him.
I truly believe RF has elevated tennis to a new level. I am sure many tennis pros will agree. (except those hate his success).

No. But some people think he is a god, especially TV company owners. Every time a Swiss sports person is on TV, and their competition runs over time, my recorded TV shows often get replaced by a sports god. I'm not interested in watching any sport.

I'm not apologizing for my sense of humor - black, cynical. Nor am I sorry for having opposite opinions to the majority. I've never followed the crowd and much prefer to be a black sheep. I would love to see a Swiss TV all sports channel, that viewers can switch to all languages. As it is, we get the same Sports program on three different channels at the same time, often replacing my recorded programs. That's what's sad.
The greatest in tennis perhaps, otherwise I and most can't judge. At least he seems to have remained relatively normal!

Roger Federer is hands down the greatest of all time when it comes to advertise Rolex. When playing tennis, Nadal, no doubt about it.

Rodger Federer is an exceptional player beyond the record stats, with a real talent for anticipation, creativity and improvisation. He never seems to be caught off guard, he tries and tries again. His game is never monotonous, he varies a lot, it's explosive, aerial, efficient, with a crazy elegance. He is totally fair play on the court. It's a treat to see him play. Emotionally it's intense, we are often on the verge of a nervous breakdown, from laughing/smiling to being almost afraid of the ball coming out. Yes, Rodger is definitely the best player of all time.
Rodger Federer est un joueur exceptionnel au delà des stats de records , avec un réel talent d anticipation , de créativité et d improvisation . Il ne semble jamais pris au dépourvu , essaie et tente des choses . Son jeu n est jamais monotone , il varie beaucoup, c est explosif , aérien , efficace , d une élégance folle . Il est totalement fair play sur le court . C est un régal de le voir jouer . Émotionnellement c est intense .On est souvent au bord de la crise nerveuse , du rire/sourire à la presque peur de la balle qui sort . Oui , Rodger est définitivement le meilleur joueur de tous les temps

Roger Federer is the greatest tennis player of all times and clearly I am a loyal fan .He is so professional and an outstanding ambassador for tennis .
We are not necessarily talking only about tennis (I assume). In the circle of tennis I do think Roger is the greatest of all time. I started to play at the age of 13 and I have not seen such a winning (and responsible) player for such a long time.
