Noël Valaisan (Part I) – Christmas in Switzerland
Specially commissioned by Swiss Radio International, "Noël Valaisan" relates the story of the Nativity as interpreted by rural folk from Hérémence in canton of Valais.
The work blends the trained singing of the “Chanson du Rhône” choir with the pure and natural voices of mountain pesants who have maintained the authencitiy and spontaneity of people in daily contact with nature. “Noël Valaisan” was written and directed by Jean Daetwyler.
