Muslim leader in Langenthal defends building of minarets.

Julie worked as a radio reporter for BBC and independent radio all over the UK before joining swissinfo.ch's predecessor, Swiss Radio International, as a producer. After attending film school, Julie worked as an independent filmmaker before coming to swissinfo.ch in 2001. 

swissinfo.ch sought a response to Ulrich Schlüer’s arguments from the Islamic community in Langenthal, where they are awaiting planning permission to build a new minaret on their mosque. We asked their spokesman, Mutalip Karaademi, why it was so important to introduce this symbol of Islam. (Julie Hunt, swissinfo.ch 06.10.2009)
