The first edition of the “Swiss Cleantech Report”, released in Zurich on Monday by KOF Swiss Economic Institute, found Swiss companies devote between five and seven per cent of their investment budgets to use energy more efficiently and sustainably.
The report said high energy costs combined with various environmental factors at the political level were prime motivators for investing in green technology.
The electro-technology industry spends some 12 per cent of its investment money on green technology, while some power companies are investing up to 48 per cent.
