A former prison in the Swiss town of Sion is staging an art exhibition featuring paintings and sculptures by nine artists from the southwestern Canton of Valais.
Gab Gabongo, shown above with his art exhibits, was among the nine artists whose works were shown to the media on Tuesday. The exhibition will be open to the public from July 2 till September 26.
The exibition is a key event in the region’s cultural activities this summer and it will be the first time that the public will have access to the prison, which is no longer in use and will be turned into a museum.
The prison cells have not been touched up and many of them show the works of the former prison inmates, including graffiti, paintings and photo collages.
