R'n'B / Funk / Pop. About ten years ago US soul singer Freda Goodlett settled in Switzerland and became lead singer of the nation's foremost funk group, the Funky Brotherhood. Her powerful, earthy voice won her wide renown almost immediately. Over the years Goodlett has collaborated with nearly everybody who is anybody on the Swiss scene. With Return Of The Black Pearl this forty-nine years young artist debuts at last under her own name. Goodlett offers a perfectly balanced bouquet of relaxed rock numbers and moving ballads, crowned by her soulful voice.
