Early Romantic / Contemporary. The Swiss Chamber Orchestra is made up of approximately thirty young classical talents from all across Switzerland. The main focus of this ensemble, directed by Emmanuel Siffert, lies in romantic and contemporary works. Over the years the SCO has appeared live with a number of renowned soloists, including Isabelle van Keuelen, Ana Chumachenco and Dimitri Ashkenazy. On their present album vivid interpretations of Bartók and Schubert flank two newly-created sound clouds by composers Einojuhani Rautavaara and Swiss Rolf Urs Ringger. The latter's work highlights in addition filigree viola parts played by Hugo Bollschweiler.
