Bilingual studies at the University of Fribourg
In Fribourg, the only Swiss university offering a bilingual (French-German) education also runs a unique course to help students navigate the two tongues.

My main task is to ensure that articles on the Chinese page are accurately translated and appropriately adapted. Born in Beijing, I studied in Fribourg (Masters in education sciences - francophone) and have lived in German-speaking Switzerland for over 20 years. My intercultural and multilingual experiences are an asset to my daily work.

I am an experienced video journalist passionate about making complex topics accessible and engaging through compelling multimedia storytelling. Focused on social and environmental issues, I produce various video formats on a wide range of topics, specialising in impactful explainer videos with motion graphics and stop-motion animation. During my studies in cinema, English literature and journalism, I’ve gained experience in radio, television, and print across Switzerland. After working with the Locarno Film Festival’s image & sound team, I joined SWI swissinfo.ch in 2018 to produce local and international reportages.

We spoke to the programme director and some of the students to get a sense of what the course has to offer.
