“Corpses” protest against asylum reform
Two teenagers and a dog inspect protestors wrapped in plastic bags in central Lausanne on May 13. The flash action was organised by a group in canton Vaud which is against a revision in the asylum law.
On June 9, Swiss voters will have their say on the reform of Switzerland’s asylum legislation, which went into effect last September.
Changes included suspending the possibility to hand in asylum requests at Swiss embassies as well as rejecting applications from conscientious objectors and deserters. A legal basis was also created to allow asylum seekers labelled as troublemakers to be housed in separate centres.
