Petition to keep musicians in Basel

The Basel Office of Economy and Labour planned to implement this policy. Previously, the musicians had been granted new residence permits every year, but these had been unlawfully issued by a cantonal employee. The musicians had established a livelihood in Basel in the meantime. The proposed deportation has led to a protest which has gained widespread support across the political spectrum.
