Blueprint served up for political debates

A wide-ranging report has been published on potential social and economic challenges the federal authorities might face over the next 15 years.

The document serves as a blueprint for the government and aims to provide a basis for a coherent policy and further discussions, the Federal Chancellery said.

The scientific report lists 12 strategic areas – including global integration, climate change, security, health, social tensions demography, infrastructure, zoning, the role of the state, as well as international competitiveness.

It uses a number of scenarios and analyses possible trends which serve as a basis for the federal administration.

Experts from all the ministries as well as outside specialists contributed to the study which is carried out every four years.
