Swiss cement giant Holcim to acquire German firm Fermacell in €840m deal
Swiss building materials giant Holcim is set to acquire German wall and flooring specialist Fermacell from James Hardie for €840 million (CHF784 million), as the Chicago-based building materials group divests its European fibre cement business.
Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, Fermacell is expected to generate revenue of around €430 million in 2026 and employs about 1,000 people, according to statements released by Holcim and James Hardie on Thursday evening.
