Despite a Swiss government ban, around 800 Swiss travelled to Spain to fight against the fascists between 1936 and 1939. Upon their return home, they had to face legal repercussions. Now the government has announced its support for the rehabilitation of these Swiss volunteers and there’s a good chance that parliament will follow suit.
