Tradition Hires Former ICAP Broker Kent to Expand in U.K. Gas
Nov. 5 (Bloomberg) — Tradition Financial Services Ltd., the brokerage unit of Cie. Financiere Tradition SA, hired a former ICAP Plc broker to expand in U.K. natural gas.
Andrew Kent, who spent 16 years at ICAP, joined Tradition Nov. 3 and will be part of a three-person desk, according to Stuart Jones, the London-based head of gas at the brokerage. Tradition, which already deals in gas markets including the Netherlands, Germany and Italy, is looking to expand its U.K. operations after entering that market in October 2013, he said.
Kent “will be a great asset to our continued expansion in the European gas markets,” Jones said by e-mail today.
Tradition also covers Belgian, Czech, Austrian and French gas. Brokers including Marex Spectron Group, Tullett Prebon Plc and GFI Group Inc. are also present in European gas markets.
