Barclays Said to Hire Thompson From UBS for Health-Care Deals
Sept. 4 (Bloomberg) — Barclays Plc hired Will Thompson from UBS AG for health-care investment banking in Europe, the Middle East and Africa amid rising activity in the industry, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
Thompson, who was head of the health-care investment banking team at UBS in EMEA, will continue to be based in London, the people said, asking not to be identified because the hiring isn’t public yet.
Thompson’s departure follows that of Anthony Hartley, who left UBS for Citigroup Inc. in July as senior managing director for health care in the region.
Representatives for Barclays and UBS declined to comment. Thompson didn’t respond to telephone and text messages requesting comment.
